New Art Shanghai is designed as a contemporary art collective in Shanghai. The goal is to create a system that locals and tourists alike can use to discover the growing art scene in the city. A numeric index displays all the galleries in the program in a walkable neighbourhood. Each gallery would appear along with icons showing what type of art is displayed there.
The four loose categories of art are; painting, sculpture, new media, and film/video. If a gallery does not have that type of art, the icon becomes inactive on the icon.
New Art Shanghai can manifest as a mobile app or as a paper pamphlet. Both incarnations will have the contact information for the specific galleries. The mobile app can filter galleries by type of art and does have more information about the galleries.
